Nicholson Street Public School, established in 1883, is a small but diverse school on the Balmain Peninsula. It has an enrolment of approximately 120 students K-6.
A proactive parent community, with high expectations, work in collaboration with a dedicated and enthusiastic staff. The school is committed to delivering quality teaching and learning programs with a specific focus on preparing every student to be articulate, informed, and involved global citizens.
Our teachers commit to their professional growth to build a school with a culture that continuously improves on what it does for all. Although a small school, there is an emphasis on providing broad curriculum opportunities in the academic, artistic, cultural, and sporting domains. The school fosters and enjoys excellent partnerships and support from the wider community.
OUR PRINCIPAL
As the Principal of Nicholson Street Public School, I am incredibly proud to be part of such a vibrant and engaged community.
With 16 years of dedicated service to our school as the substantive Assistant Principal, and after several terms as relieving Principal, I am honoured to now serve as the substantive Principal.
My passion for our small impactful school drives my commitment to enhancing every aspect of learning and development. At Nicholson Street, we are focused on improving all students' learning trajectories through engaging and empowering approaches. Our dedication to student wellbeing is unparalleled; in partnership with Gotcha4Life, we have implemented a comprehensive approach to developing mental fitness across our entire community.
We believe in working shoulder to shoulder with parents, staff, and students to create holistic and uplifting learning experiences. Our goal is to ensure that every key stakeholder is known, valued, and cared for, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.
